      Analytical Process Control Learning System (T5554): covers major topics and skills involved with controlling and modifying the chemical properties of a substance. The Analytical Process Control Learning System covers topics like pH electrodes, pH meters and transmitters, and loop controllers and vital theoretical process control knowledge including: describing the function of a process hazard analysis; defining pH and explaining its importance; learning five common types of loop controller parameter groups; and configuring a Honeywell UDC 3500 for continuous pH control.       Run a Process Control Line with a PLC Learning System

      Amatrol’s Process Control Connection Kit (33278) includes unions, piping, and cables necessary to connect two or more process control systems that will be controlled by an Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC on the Programmable Controller Troubleshooting Learning System (890-PECB).       Workplace Effectiveness Training from Amatrol Takes Your Program to the Next Level!

      Communication skills are essential in today’s workplaces. Improving one’s listening skills is an important part of effective communication, but there are many more techniques that should be learned to truly increase communication in an organization.  Amatrol’s Workplace Effectiveness program covers topics such as listening skills, feedback, barriers to effective communication, roles of the sender and receiver, and the importance of a medium to resolve conflicts.

      Understanding group dynamics are a critical skill in the workplace and this program breaks down the various components and attributes at work in a group.  Once these dynamics are covered, the learner is taught the steps of the decision-making process in a group situation including its advantages and disadvantages.

      Another aspect of Amatrol’s Workplace Effectiveness program is the addition of modules designed to teach the learner more about the technologies used in advanced manufacturing processes to enable them to interface effectively with other members of a group.  For example, learners will be introducted to computer numeric control that is used as the primary interface between a machine operator and the machine.  Additionally, learners will learn basic math and trigonometry as they relate to advanced manufacturing processes.  From communication skills to math, this program has it all!

      Automation - Amatrol - Learning Systems for Technical Education

      Amatrol’s extensive line of automation learning systems focuses on two main areas: robots and programmable logic controllers (PLC), specifically their function and application within automated production lines. The learning systems within this area take a building block approach to skill development, beginning with rudimentary topics like basic robot operation and basic component adjustment before moving to more advanced topics like serial device applications and multiple station control.       All of the automation learning systems combine hearty curriculum packed full of on-the-job applicable knowledge with real-world industrial components for exceptional hands-on skill-building. Many of these systems also feature fault troubleshooting so that learners can understand how to recognize common system problems and malfunctions and how to correct them.


      Amatrol’s robot learning systems feature the Pegasus II (880-RA2-1-B), which has an open arm design that supports hands-on knowledge application and skill development. While small in size, the Pegasus is a giant when it comes to teaching and learning capabilities. Within the Robotics and Computer Programming 1 system (94-RCP1) and the add-on Flexible Manufacturing 1 (94-FMS1A) and 2 (94-FMS2), major topics include:

      Programmable Logic Controllers and Mechatronics

      Programmable logic controllers are arguably the most important component in advanced manufacturing. Amatrol features the two industry leaders in PLCs in Allen-Bradley and Siemens, specifically the AB CompactLogix L16 and the Siemens S7-300 series. Within Amatrol’s automation systems, PLCs are integrated with mechatronics stations to recreate an actual automated line in your classroom.

      Amatrol’s mechatronics choices includes both a Large Scale Mechatronics Line, which features a robust nine carts, and a Tabletop Mechatronics line for customers that have more restricted classroom space or need to transport the learning system between multiple venues. The large scale line covers topics like:

      Amatrol’s tabletop mechatronics learning system features four stations and utilizes an Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1000 PLC. This system covers topics like automation operation, sorting, distribution, inspection, indexing, and inventory.

      In addition to learning systems geared toward post-secondary and industrial customers, Amatrol also offers systems specifically designed for high schools. One of the biggest challenges facing the workforce today is a skilled worker shortage.
